Faith Amidst Troubled Waters

Written by Joseph Smith, the Standard of Truth stands as a promise from the Lord that his work will go forth, and that this dispensation, the dispensation of the fullness of times, will not end in apostasy but in his coming to declare that his work is done.
"The Standard of Truth has been erected; no unhallowed hand can stop the work from progressing; persecutions may rage, mobs may combine, armies may assemble, calumny may defame, but the truth of God will go forth boldly, nobly, and independent, till it has penetrated every continent, visited every clime, swept every country, and sounded in every ear, till the purposes of God shall be accomplished, and the Great Jehovah shall say the work is done." (History of the Church, 4:540)
And as evidence of his work progressing: A Stake is organized in India!

This is strong evidence that the Lords work will progress, and nothing can stop it. Even the political unrest that is becoming more and more prevalent across the globe cannon stop the gospel from "penetrating every continent, sweeping every country and sounding in every ear". I am grateful for testimony that helps me to face the fear and uncertainty of our nation and of the world. And for a wife who reminds me when I need it.

The Biggest Loser

We have been watching The Biggest Loser this season. This is the first time that I have watched a whole season from start to finish. It is so inspiring to watch these people change their lives. It is amazing to see these people come in and as they loose the physical weight they also loose emotion things. They let go of things that are holding them back and emerge as these whole happy people. There are some parallels to be drawn from the journey they make to the journey each of us make in these life. After they change their lives they help their family, friends and community. We are put on these earth to help each other through this life. But like these contents they first had to help themselves and gain the knowledge they needed to help others. They first have to learn how to live a healthy life style before they can teach their families. We too must gain the knowledge we need so that we can help others. If we want to help others through gain a knowledge of Christ and the love he has from them we must first gain a knowledge of Christ ourselves. But like these people we should not keep what we are learning to ourselves but also share it with others. They are so excited about the knowledge they have gain and can't wait to share it with their friends and family. Should we not be the same way? Should we not be so excited to share the knowledge that we have been given with everyone so they too can share in the joy the Gospel brings to your life?

Other Inspiration Blogs

Here are a few other blogs that I have come a crossed that are inspiring. These women have had some hard things happen in their lives. Things that I think are most peoples biggest fear and they have embraced it and found a way to overcome the trail.

This first one is a mother who lost her 6 year old daughter in a school shooting. This is one of my biggest fears and I would hope that I could find a way to handle it as she has. This blog is for her healing process and the emotions she goes through all the time.

The second one is a mother who was severally burned in an airplane crash. It too is about her journey through this and the challenges she faces everyday.

Good Things To Come

In church today the Sister speaking shared the message of this video. She told the story and shared the message at the end. It really touched me and I came home and watched it. It is so easy to quit when things get tough. It seems sometimes the road it too far and it is better to give up now. In the video as the man stands over his car that is not working and tells the man that is helping him that he has come 34 miles and has 2600 to go, you can feel the hopelessness of the situation. I think that we find ourselves there. We have only come a small ways and have so far to go, and it seems hopeless. The message I get from this is to keep going and keep moving forward. We should never give up and quit, there are good things to come. Some how we need to find the faith so that we can have hope for the future and the good things to come. The Lord is in charge, He is mindful of each one of us and loves each one of His children. He loves us and wants us to succeed but for us to do that he need to do our part and keep moving forward. We must never give up and remember that good things will come.
